Answers to your most frequently
asked questions.
How do I schedule my first appointment at McClung Clinic?
You can schedule your first appointment with us through our schedule appointment
button to the left quickly and easily. Of course, you may phone the office to
schedule your appointment as well. Our appointment desk is available on 713 528
3444 from 9.30am through 5.00pm M-F. Either way, our appointment team will get
your visit all set up for you. Once you arrive for your first appointment you will have
the same peace of mind our long time clients are accustomed to.
What will I need to have with me for my appointment?
For your first appointment be sure to bring your current insurance card and a valid
driver's license or state issued ID card. In fact, it is a good idea to bring both of
these with you to every visit so we can double check our information is correct and
up to date. This helps us prevent any insurance headaches down the road for you.
What if I need to reschedule my visit?
We ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible. We often have
patients on a waiting list for certain appointment times and your early notice might
allow us to accommodate their needs. We ask for at least a 24 hour notice prior to
your reschedule. Of course, we realize that may not always be possible, however,
repeated 'no-shows' or last second cancellation may result in a charge for the
missed appointment as they compromise our service level.
Will I have to wait long before my visit?
We strive extremely hard to limit your wait time for your appointment. We appreciate
and respect your time and schedule. However, there are instances where we do
end up running behind as office visits and hospital surgery's may require additional
unscheduled time. Should the office be running behind, our appointment desk does
their absolute best to contact later patients to advise them of any potential delays
and reschedule for a later time or an alternate day if needed. If your schedule is
tight, you may consider phoning the office to confirm your appointment prior to
heading out, just in case. Again, we constantly strive to avoid delays and schedule
specifically to avoid them, but they do happen occasionally. We appreciate your
patience when they do occur and do our best to minimize their impact on your
schedule.
Anything else I should expect?
In a word, yes. We will ask you for a urine sample each time you visit. This is vital
medical information Dr. McClung needs to ensure your health and well-being.
Testing is strictly limited to medically necessary items pertaining solely to your
urological health. Some patients have voiced concerns about their privacy relating
to such testing. We understand completely. We do not perform STD testing without
patient request and approval. We never test samples for drug usage. All results are
strictly confidential and used solely for the medical benefit of our patients and not
provided outside the McClung Clinic and the patient without your expressed and
written consent.
On occasion, a blood sample may be requested depending upon patient concerns
or when required medically by Dr. McClung. Again, the test results are strictly
related to medical necessity and results are strictly confidential.
